associatedhairprofessionals.com 5 Here's is another aspect to consider: I have other clients who also need retouches, highlights, and blowouts. ey are also very good clients, and I equally adore them. You see, I must juggle many clients' schedules, including my own, while balancing my one-on-one holistic, organic way of hair coloring and styling. I would love to take you now, but being only one person, it is an impossibility. My work is a unique, holistic way of pampering my clients, beyond quality hair coloring or efficient hair cutting. I have designed my practice to create a tranquil place and time where you can escape—to do nothing but relax to the best of your ability without stress or worry. If I am to be successful with giving you my best, I must protect that time for you. I need to focus on performing my work in a timely and efficient manner that allows for you to be immersed in an atmosphere of serenity—not frenetic energy. If I were to squeeze you in, then I would be taking away from another client's time and peace. Holism is about the whole picture, the whole organism or individual, not about one or two parts of the whole. I would be lacking compassion and respect for the person before and aer you if I disregarded this important key element to my service plan. e truth is I am very aware that you have choices. I know very well the amount of competition out there. I also see firsthand many, many examples of how the results of a "take- me-now-rush-job" can go horribly wrong because I've had to fix those mistakes numerous times throughout my career. So, here are a few tips to prevent future hair catastrophes: 1. Before you leave the salon, right aer you freshen up those roots, book your next appointment. is way, you have a set time and date. 2. ere is nothing wrong with calling the same day, but be prepared to hear that it may not work. Understand that you may need to have another day and time to fall back on. 3. Book online. Many salons have 24/7 online booking capabilities. is means you can make an appointment even in the wee hours of the morning while in your jammies and slippers. 4. Figure out how oen you usually go between appointments and put it in your digital calendar with an alert for two weeks before you need it. is way, you can still rebel against the inevitable, but you can also benefit from planning. Win-win! I look forward to seeing you book ahead on your next visit! ■ Tyler Fenix is a holistic hair colorist and stylist.
